Finding the right bra size is one of the most important things you can do for your comfort - and most women have never been properly measured. Use this guide to find your true size before you shop.
How to Measure Yourself at Home
You only need a soft measuring tape. Take your measurements without a heavily padded bra on, or without a bra entirely.
Step 1 — Find your band size Wrap the tape firmly around your ribcage, directly under your bust. Keep it snug and level. This measurement in inches is the starting point for your band size.
Step 2 — Find your bust measurement Wrap the tape loosely around the fullest part of your bust, keeping it parallel to the floor. Do not pull tight.
Step 3 — Find your cup size Subtract your underbust measurement from your bust measurement. The difference in inches tells you your cup size — 1 inch = A, 2 inches = B, 3 inches = C, 4 inches = D, and so on.
How to Find your Band Size
Your band size is the number in your bra size - 32, 34, 36, 38, and so on. Use the chart below to match your underbust measurement to your band size.
How to Find your Cup Size
Your cup size is the letter in your bra size — A, B, C, D, DD, and so on. Once you have your band size, subtract it from your bust measurement to get your cup size.
Bra Size Conversion — Why Sizes Vary by Brand
Bra sizes and measurements vary from country to country. US and UK bra band sizes are equivalent, but cup sizes vary. When you get into EU, Australian, French, and Japanese sizes, things start to get confusing.
For example, a size 36DDD in the US is a size 36E in the UK and a size 80F in the EU.
The brands we stock use different sizing systems. Victoria's Secret, Hanes, and No Boundaries use US sizing. Marks & Spencer uses UK sizing. H&M uses EU sizing. When in doubt, always refer to the individual brand's size label and compare it to your measurements rather than assuming your usual size will translate directly.
Rather than trying to re-take your measurements for each country, the safest approach is to know your measurements in inches and use them as your reference point every time you shop.
